I am a 140 hr pilot and I ended up flying it myself with a friend as co-pilot. The flight was a great experience for me but did cost me about 6K including pilot fee . So the total cost was 6+8.5=14.5K including the money Ken Norris took from me.
As my friend said " the guy never had any intention of flying it down". My friend planned the whole trip in one week and the plane performed flawlessly.
when I picked up my plane in NC, I found out Ken Norris had done a gear up landing with a customers twin engine. So that plane was never delivered and sits at a shop. Pilot error, as he shut down the engine that fed the landing gear mechanism.
It is really hard to know who you are dealing with. To date, since March 09, I have not seen any of my money back or proof of where this money went.
I spoke with Global Ferry regarding this and have not heard back and his name is still listed.
Global Ferry: Ask Ken for the receipts of expenses for the 8.5K to see who you are dealing with. He only showed me a spreadsheet with costs that added up to 5k, but only a few receipts and no explanation of the 40 hrs of use on my plane.
