Who are we and where do we come from ?

About us Firstavia
GAF crew 2007

Our operation is comprised of a two dozen experienced pilots from various aviation backgrounds, mostly airline captains and flight instructors. With a combined experience of hundreds of thousands of flight hours, multiple type-ratings and licenses issues under different aviation authorities, we offer a competent advise and execution of you most ambitious projects. Ferry flights, flight planning, EU import, aviation consulting, project management, aircraft sales and many other services.

Unlike most "one-man" ferry companies, we can offer you not just a single flight estimate but a variety of quotations from various pilots qualified to safely deliver your aicraft. You can subsequently compare all estimates and level of individual experience and choose the best candidate for the job. Since some of our pilots are current or retired airline captains, we can safely ferry not only small GA aircrafts but most light, medium and heavy passenger jets such as A320/B737, etc

We offer a wide variety of Russian aircrafts for sales and import to the United States and Europe as well as from United States and North America to Russian Federation and CIS. Our unique off-shore aircraft registation option allows our customers to enjoy a stress-free aircraft ownerwhip and avoid costly import/export taxation imposed by the local governments.

Please contact us for more details and see samles of our ferry quotations.

A little bit about our history...

Firstavia about us
Ops Coordinator, Russ Sherwood, 1999

Our company was established by 2 fresh flight instructors from UK and Ireland with JAA and FAA commercial licenses. We wanted to apply our multi-national license authorities to something that really needs it. So, in 2006 we started taking on requests from our friends and aquaintances to ferry GA aircrafts from the US to EU. Since we were very familiar with both types of airspaces and already had a coudple of thousands of flight hours behind our backs, aircarft deliveries worked out just fine: safe, economical and on time. So, we decided to let a few more pilots from diverse backgrounds to join us and started streamlining our deliveries by managing better routes, simple price estimation and faster flight-plannig.

We were first registered in the UK under "Global Air Ferry Ltd".

Bcause we started operating in 2006, you may say we are a "new kid on the block". But since 2006, we managed to impress our customers, partners, competitors and even international media by displaying a smooth and unique operation. Several articles were written about our company, includine "Chicago Tribune" article by Leanne Gusscup about ferry pilots and even a Discovery Channell documentary is in the making, featuring pilots from our company.

How did we end up in Russian Federation ?

Decision to de-register our company in the UK and re-register our company in Russia came as an opportunity, when a bigger aviation sales company "Sovrasko/Firstavia Group LLC" from St.Petersburg approached us with a long-term US-Russia aurcraft delivery contract for their sales operation. After meeting these lovely fellas in Moscow, we decided that we could really work together and merged in 2008.

At the moment, 95% of our pilots are from the US and Western Europe. But the corporate management is from St.Petersburg, Russia. We are thrilled to work as a part of Firstavia Group and love being "under a big brother's wing".
